Former Obama Cabinet Members Endorse Will Jawando for Congress
SILVER SPRING, MD – With 62 days left until the primary, Will Jawando rolled-out several key endorsements. Former Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan and Former EPA Administrator, Lisa Jackson have both announced they will be supporting Will in the April 26th primary. Duncan, Jackson and Jawando released the following statements:
Will Jawando: “We are at a critical time in this country’s history. Now more than ever, we need to send people to Congress who truly understand how Congress works, who will work across the aisle and build coalitions to get things done.
I am honored to get the endorsements of Arne and Lisa who have worked at the highest level of government and know how Washington works.”
Arne Duncan, Former Secretary of Education: “I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with Will during his time at the White House and at the Department of Education and have seen the passion he has for improving the lives of every day Americans and ensuring all children have equal access to a high quality education. It is for that reason that I am immensely proud to endorse his candidacy for the United States Congress. Democrats have a great leader in Will Jawando.”
Lisa Jackson, Former EPA Administrator: “We need people in Congress who know that we must take action now to ensure a clean environment and strong economy for all Americans. I know Will and am confident he will work to address climate change, end our reliance on fossil fuels, and invest in a new clean energy economy. That’s why I’m endorsing him for the United States Congress.”
In addition to being endorsed by the Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee, Will has been endorsed by Congressman Gregory Meeks (NY-05), Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02), Ben Jealous, Former President of the NAACP, Councilmember Craig Rice of Montgomery County, Christopher S.
