The Montgomery County group of Sierra Club, representing 6,000 people across the county, today endorsed Will Jawando, candidate for Montgomery County Council At-Large, in the Democratic primary set for June 26.
In its endorsement statement, local Sierra Club group singled out “significant and measurable solutions” to climate change as a priority for this election. In his first campaign finance report to the Maryland Board of Elections since launching his campaign three months ago, Will Jawando reported grassroots contributions of more than $29,000 from 355 Montgomery County donors, out of a total of more than $37,730 from 453 people.
Jawando had filed to qualify for Montgomery County’s public financing prior to the Sept. 16 formal kickoff of his campaign for an At-Large seat on the Montgomery County Council.
